Introduction

Tim Martin opened the first J D Wetherspoon pub in 1979. He tried to make the pub become a model of \"Moon Under Water\". The offered cheap beer,good conversation and solid architecture. The company is „cleanliness, beer, service and maintenance.

I would use the ‘Deal and Kennedy’model to for the culture of the company. So if they have trouble in operation, they can solve by themselves. Otherwise, the manager and chairman can listen to the advices of the employees, that is to say the suggestion and implementation can get on together well.It can improve the staff motivation. And then Tim held of the “save the pound”, that can make profit for the company after take some positive measures. In the meantime. The staff can have good performance in working time.

The relationship between organisation culture and behaivour

Organization culture can improve organization‟s ability . The relationship between the organisational culture and behavior is organisational culture guides the behavior and the company behavior reflects the culture. The model of “work hard and play hard” can make influence on the behavior. The company meet the needs to customers that providing TV screens,that the behavior reflect the culture of the JDW.In the JDW Company every member of staff is considered as potential management material and 20% of senior managers began as bar staff or cleaners. It recognizes that employees will not stay with it for all their working lives but does wish to build a sense of loyalty.

The management of the JDW has to change a different culture but use the same model,There will be lots of differentiation and the management of the J D Whetherspoon should change their management mode immediately. If J D Whetherspoon use another type of Kennedy‟s model „tough guy‟, they can get high feedback, but at the cost of it they will burden a high risk.so JDW should think it clear to change the culture,or it will have more bad effect on the management. However, work- hard and play-hard, the company that take few risks and can also have a quick

turnaround if the feedback is as good ad \"tough guy\".

Business Strategy

JDW Wetherspoon would adopt 4 strategies, the organistion may use cost leadership, differentiation, product development and diversification.

Leadership: Leader in any market to achieve competitive advantage can not be productive for many at the lowest cost. Plant construction and maintenance, labor is recruited and trained to provide the lowest possible production costs. 'Cost advantage' is the focus of attention. Shave the cost of each element of the value chain. Products are often 'not cheap.

Differentiation: Differentiated goods and services satisfy the needs of customers through a sustainable competitive advantage. JDW should use this strategy to attract more consumers, like wineglass and mix wine, it's the true value of the JDW's differentiation

Product development: It is a new product to be marketed to the JD Whetherspoon‟s existing customers. Such products are then marketed to our existing customers. JDW We know that customers have their fixed, but it may not be able to make customers satisfied with the taste, if they do not attach importance to product development, can only have these customers can not get more customer support.

Diversification: Diversification of the means, we remain in the market or industry and we are familiar. Unrelated diversification is where we did not experience the past, the industry market. There is no doubt that the company should do research in the market, they should know the culture of the local way of life. Only do this, they can meet customer diversification of style.

JDW's use of the market development strategy. JDW From the very beginning of the expansion policy, ventilation facilities, JDW has made a considerable cost. Initially, they averaged 4100

It is a good opportunity for the company to make full use of their own cultural strengths, to develop their diverse style.

If JDW want to change, it has to consider external and internal environment. The external environment should be to consider the needs of clients and the law permits, and government policy. For example, customers watch football games in the JDW needs enough facilities, legal provisions are not allowed to sell liquor before 11 o'clock, the Government has control of excessive drinking. These are all taken into account the needs of JDW. And internal environment in relation to the acceptance of employees as well as to their views. If employees are dissatisfied with changes in the Green Point, the need for timely communication and staff; also have their own financial estimates, whether or not to consider the situation in their own way for this new strategy will affect the company or impede the development.

The connection between the terms 'business strategy' and 'strategic choice' .Business strategy include many factors: plan, pattern, position, poly and perspective. It exists only in relation to some goal, end or objective. From 1980s to 1990s, the business strategy of JDW is still expanding for the reason that it want to get more profit,the JDW Company‟s strategy in 1980~1990 is

Development and quickly growth. JDW became a plc in 1992 at which time it consisted of a chain of 44 pubs. It now has over 600 pubs, which means that it has expanded on average at the rate of about one new pub each week. Then the strategy turn to become supevisor, JDW use

the diversification strategy to attract more customers which would also bring more profit to them,

it has developed the Lloyds Number One brand and greatly increased the number of outlets. These bars have a different menu to JDW pubs and, in contrast to them, are music based

outlets with a much stronger entertainment element. They have plasma screens and can show TV programmers.Those affairs show that the business strategies has an increased change.

Strategy choice is one of the most vital part in the business because a correct and accurate

choice will quickly make the company gain profit and get success. JDW's changing from market development to diversifacation is a correct choice. The government not allowed the pubs selling drinks in the moring. But the JDW make a change with serving breakfast and open earlier in the morning before normal licensing gours,it begin at 11.am. And in the twenty first century the JDW have also choice the right strategy. Because the number of competitor increases cause the entire market changes. JDW Company has to use diversification

Change

Change is a restruction of the structure, of a company. It can be very big or small, from internal to external. It makes the management style or workforce attitude different.

JDW was forced to make some change owning to some special limit, it has to face more competition. The most important forces for JDW to change are external environment. JDW has to change their management style, so they have a dedicate family dining area where children and adults can eat together in the Pubs. Another factor is that they have to provide TV screens to show football matches in their pubs. And serve breakfast and open earlier in the morning before normal licensing hours begin at 11.00 a.m. They make some changes which meet the needs of the consumers, that will attract more consumers and bring more profit to them.

However ther are also some factors block the changes, such as some shareholders were relunctant to make some changes and that will bring more nagative effects, that will also bring another factors which may cause the consumers would not accept the products.But if the changes take less, instead,attract more consumers and get more profit, it would have negative effect.JDW changed over time as the promotion factor is more than impediment factor.

I choose the Social responsibility, however, the government give a note to the pubs.

Drinking too much was defined as a consequent anti-social behaviour, paticulary in citycentre. This kind of affairs can not be exist in pubs for it is not encouraged in this state, as it brings

them bad publicity. As a result, in 2004, JDW removed price incentives to drink larger measures of spirits and reduced the amount of alcohol in its cocktail pitchers. This has had an adverse effect on sales of spirits and cocktails. It take the negative effects, the customers was slow down. It makes the taste become bad and sales volume falls.As it is clear that JDW changed as for reason that the social responsibility.

Management in the operation of the company played a crucial role, since 2000, bars in the 11 o'clock before the liquor is not permitted, in order to bar the formation of a loss than that, JDW for a way to solve this trouble, and that is to rely on the provision of breakfast drinks business, this area has to comply with the provisions of the law, but also so that the bars can still profit. The face of government departments and external factors such as competition, JDW has not been reduced, but for the kinds of management to continue its operation, and to some extent better than the past, leaders of the management model through the adjustment has been made some changes, this point should be affirmed.

I have some advice for the management of JDW Wetherspoon. As a result of changes in government policies, had no choice but to sell liquor after 11:00 during the day, but IDW 8 point to start selling as soon as possible, which will result in staff dissatisfaction, so the need to strengthen communication between staff and exchanges to discuss with staff members reached a consensus opinion .JDW should let the staff know the company's change and it's unchangable reason. Then it should encourage the staffs to adopt to the changes while provide them enough leisure time.

JDW Whetherspoon both in its management or its external or internal environment, is to play its vital role in the growth of, in order to make them invincible, JDW changes need to adapt to different and better continuous to improve itself.
